Abstract:
Powell speaks to society's prevailing tendency to place a higher value on certain professions and accomplishments. For example, a doctor or lawyer commands more respect than a teacher or school principal. Powell challenges the public not only to be equally impressed with both professions, but also to demonstrate this with our reactions, responses and questions.
