Abstract:
The terrorist attacks of 9/11 had profound implications for American and world Jewry, the author contends. In response to these attacks, and to the second intifada, Jews are seeking to defend the essence of who they are as a people and as a civilization, he explains. The author discusses human dimensions to the effects of the attacks, institutional challenges revealed, and changing political realities.
