Abstract:
Four members of the CLAL faculty respond to an article by Peter Beinart that criticizes the growth of Jewish day schools. These responses focus on the degree to which Jewish schools help build Jewish identity as well as the notion that attending these schools might prevent full social integration. The compilation implies that a Jewish school rooted in American values is the ideal solution.
