Abstract:
The author discusses Arnold Wolf's claim that contemporary Jewry abuses the Holocaust by misusing language. While agreeing with Wolf, Berenbaum also encourages us to search for guidance within the Jewish textual tradition when studying the event. Above all, Berenbaum advocates for intelligent deliberation and thorough education in order to understand the Holocaust and frame it in an appropriate Jewish historical context.
