Abstract:
The author describes her positive outlook on the rise of Cyber-communities that offer support to those who need it. The author explains her experience in an online community made up of people who had undergone surgery, or had had a family member undergo surgery. She articulates that Cyber-communities offer support of a different caliber than a bouquet of flowers from a neighbor.
