Abstract:
Before racialism fell out of fashion in the 1920s, the author explains, the Zionist movement contained several elements of racialism. (This racialism was distinct from racism, says the author, because for Zionists, racial distinction went hand in hand with racial equality.) The author traces the various racial ideologies through their manifestations in Zionist literature.
