Abstract:
The authors describe the goals, methods and preliminary results of a project called MODIYA (modiya.nyu.edu), an open-source, online curricular project gathering materials at the intersection of Jews, Jewish religion and Media. The project exemplifies research-based pedagogy, in which research and teaching proceed in tandem, which (the authors contend) is proper for sucha new field of inquiry.
