Abstract:

This report provides an analysis of 2000 U.S. Census data to help quantify the need for affordable and accessible housing for persons with disabilities in the state of Florida. Using a special cross-tabulation of Census data, the report examines three areas: 1) What is the relationship among disability, low incomes, housing cost buden, and substandard housing for Florida households? 2) What are the demographic characteristics of households including persons with disabilities, such as household size, age of householder, and own/rent status? 3) How many persons with disabilities are adult children living with a parent?
