President William Jefferson Clinton vetoed 17 bills during his first term in office (1993-1996), and, thus far, has vetoed 17 bills during his second term. All of President Clinton’s 34 vetoes were regular or return vetoes; none were pocket vetoes. Congress attempted to override 12 of President Clinton’s vetoes; 2 were overridden.
