Abstract:
Both poor readers and special-education students with a reading disability deserve a chance at intensive reading instruction.
Strong evidence indicates that students diagnosed with learning disabilities have been unresponsive to the costly special education that has been provided to them in the public schools. Special-education students would benefit from private reading programs that focus on the individual student.
