Abstract:
Just before leaving for the August recess, both the House and Senate unanimously passed so-called "SCHIP Fix" (H.R. 2854) legislation. This bill preserves $2.7 billion in unspent federal State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) funds that would have otherwise reverted to the federal treasury. Instead, these funds will be available for states to maintain, and in some cases expand, health insurance coverage.
