Abstract:

The Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA, provides broad nondiscrimination protection in employment, public services, public accommodations and services operated by public entities, transportation, and telecommunications for individuals with disabilities. The Supreme Court has decided nineteen ADA cases, including one in the 2004-2005 Supreme Court term. Certiorari has also been granted for one case for the 2005-2006 term. This report will summarize the major provisions of the ADA and will discuss selected recent issues, including the Supreme Court cases. It will be updated as developments warrant.
