Abstract:
This document focuses on the gerrymander of 1961. The Democrat's had a heavy majority in both houses. However, Democratic seats did not nessecarily translate to Democratic votes. Kennedy and the Democratic party tried to give seats to more faithful Democrats and at the same time, take seats away from Republicans. This document analyzes the success of the gerrmander in California in 1961.
