Abstract:

Winning Construction Jobs for Local Residents is a practical guide to developing a strategy for creating and keeping high-quality construction jobs for local residents. It presents lessons from real campaigns and programs across the country that work to promote accountable development and good jobs, especially for women and people of color. This guide includes an analysis of the core stakeholders and potential allies in a construction jobs campaign, descriptions of existing programs, and detailed explanations of legal tools necessary to get the agreements in writing. It will serve as a valuable resource to organizers and residents as they consider embarking on construction jobs campaigns in their cities.
