Abstract:
Taking Public Defense to the Streets challenges those who defend indigent clients in criminal cases to embrace a more community-oriented approach to their work. It explains why defenders can and should begin to identify common ground on issues of fairness and justice with the communities from which their clients come and to which they will return.
