This report is a tool to begin bridging the gap between economic development planning and the needs of working families and children. The report demonstrates that child care is vital to Humboldt County's economy. The report demonstrates that child care is a critical component of any comprehensive plan for sustained economic development, and shows that businesses in particular have a vested interested in ensuring that there is a high-quality and affordable local child care system.
