Abstract:
The primary preoccupation in international trade negotiations, once initial business contacts are cemented, centers on financial arrangements. Nowhere is this phenomenon more conspicuous than in East-West trade, where capitalist nations must deal with the complex monetary systems of centrally planned economies. particularly intriguing aspect of these financial ties is the question of Eastern bloc indebtedness to the West and the United States attitude toward continued credit extension.
