Abstract:
The world economic situation continues to improve, mainly because of the move by many countries toward market-oriented policies. Even so, trade protectionism threatens the coming Tokyo summit. The U.S. and Europe are no longer simply talking about restricting their markets. They are taking action to undo 40 years of progress in trade liberalization. Reagan must do all he can to defuse this dangerous situation.
