Abstract:
Given the steady drift of Papandreou's Greece away from the Western alliance, the U.S. must strengthen its ties to Turkey, not weaken them. For if Minister Papandreou chooses to oust U.S. bases from Greece, Turkey is the obvious candidate to provide substitute facilities.
