Abstract:
The Kremlin is devoting substantial resources to submarine detection efforts. Through a combination of research, espionage, and improved and increased numbers of attack submarines, the Soviets may well be gaining the means to destroy a substantial number of U.S. nuclear subs in a surprise attack.
