Abstract:
Mapping Public Financing in American Elections provides a comprehensive map-view of state and local public financing programs in the United States. The map displays three types of jurisdictions: (1) those which provide full public financing to candidates; (2) those which provide some form of partial public financing to candidates; and (3) those which give public funds to political parties. The map also shows states and local jurisdictions which have introduced legislation to create or significantly alter an existing form of public financing in the last 24 months.
