Abstract:
This article examines the current state of Jewish communal life in France. The author finds three main trends: a growing desire for Jewish life; an increasing number of families who send their children to Jewish schools instead of public ones; and the ongoing development of Jewish social agencies and programs. These trends are each complex and subject to many factors including relations with the broader French community and issues of philanthropy and fundraising.
