Our mandate to meet human needs from a Jewish and a communal perspective certainly can be enhanced if our organizations are well run and efficient. A solid business model that is based on meaningful fiduciary oversight and accountability is a valuable addition to a field that years ago assumed such accountability was neither necessary, appropriate, nor possible.
