The purpose of this paper is to suggest a rough estimate of the total number of Israeli emigrants in the United States; to analyze and describe the characteristics of those who were born in Israel and were enumerated in the 1980 census of the United States and to compare the characteristics of the latter with those of the Israeli-born population living in Israel.
