Abstract:
In Jewish Population Studies (Papers in Jewish Demography), 337-345. While questions about the future cannot be answered with scientific precision, lessons from the past and analysis of the present provide working parameters in evaluating the most likely contours of future American aliya. A brief review of the changing volume of American immigration to Israel (1961-1972) and of the selectivity of American olim provide the necessary background to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative potential aliya of American Jews.
