There is a tremendous need for a clear conceptual framework against which to evaluate educational projects. This paper contributes towards the debate that must occur if we are to develop such a framework. A qualitative conception of success must begging with the question why do we want to create an educational program in the first place? In the paper we describe three such answers to the question of why in the area of Diaspora-Israel education.
