Abstract:
The author describes how the rabbi serves the needs of patients in the Maimonides Hospital and Home for the Aged in Montreal, an Orthodox facility. The rabbi's duties include as much interactions with staff as with patients, the author explains, in order to work with the staff to help the patients to participate as fully as possible in traditional religious life, in compliance with laws of prayer, Sabbath observance and other activities.
