Abstract:
The author explores the financial status of the American Jewish communal field. In the wake of Israel's Yom Kippur War, American Jewish communal organizations are giving large amounts to Israel to address Israel's great and growing needs. At the same time, the author forecasts that 1975 donation income for American Jewish agencies will not match the amounts given in 1974. He discusses specific figures relating to the field's expenditures and sources of income. The author suggests that this new financial crisis is also an opportunity to re-evaluate priorities.
