Abstract:
The author asserts that the Jewish communal field is too fragmented and compartmentalized, and has lost sight of the wide-angle, long-term goals and priorities of the Jewish community worldwide. He argues that the kind of unity required cannot be dictated by any national organization but must be the result of individuals and individual communities keeping the larger-scale goals in mind, and working together in order to attain them.
