Abstract:
The author argues that the field of social work is attempting to formulate new theoretical conceptions of itself, drawing heavily on the psychological and social sciences. The Jewish communal field, he writes, must be selective in adopting new social work theory, being careful also to include unique aspects of the Jewish experience which are relevant to Jewish communal welfare.
