Abstract:
For quite some time, there have been disparities in the distribution of Jewish communal funds. This article describes how in many instances a person or state’s ideology influences how financial assistance is given. The article also describes the struggle that many NGOs and philanthropic agencies face when determining the pertinence of distributing aid to local Jewish agencies or internationally, for example, to the state of Israel. The authors emphasize that donors posses a comprehensive model that explicitly outlines the allocation of funds to the Jewish community to prevent further disparity.
