Abstract:
This article suggests that traditional Jewish practices, including Jewish denominational and community organizational practices are out-of-date and not in line with the demands of the late 20th century. The author further suggests that Jewish practices are failing to adapt to the changing role of women in American culture. According to the author, women’s ‘newfound’ desire to become more involved in the workforce is due to such factors as an increase in divorce rates, a compression of childbearing years, and intermarriage.
