Abstract:

The author notes that Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) are bombarded with pressure to "be Jewish" and "do Jewish" from all sides. He argues that the more centers are bombarded, the less their attitudes change. The paper presents some suggestions for reducing the dissonance between attitudes toward service delivery and daily behavior in JCC work.
