Abstract:
The author offers predictions regarding the future of the American Jewish communal field, given changes in American Jewry's socioeconomic status and relationship with the State of Israel, among other factors. He predicts more fundraising for Israel, a shift from social services towards cultural programming, increased use of fees for services, and a continuing shortage of Jewish communal personnel.
