Abstract:

The author advocates for greater cooperation between synagogues and Jewish Federations, including the funding of certain synagogue activities by Federations, especially those activities that serve the common interests of the total Jewish community. Among these common interests, in the author's view, are expanding Jewish participation, Jewish education, professional recruitment, fundraising, support for Israel, assisting Soviet Jews, and Jewish continuity.
