Abstract:
The author asserts that small group homes offering a broad spectrum of services for the elderly can prevent premature institutionalization. She discusses the positive experience of her agency, the Jewish Family and Children's Service in Baltimore, with placing elderly adults in foster homes in small groups, as opposed to individual foster placements or institutionalization.
