Abstract:
The port of Seattle has become an important entrance point for immigrants from Russia who must cross the Pacific Ocean because other ways of reaching the United States were closed because of the War. So many Jewish immigrants have already arrived that the local community appealed to the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society for assistance, and so many more are expected that the Society is planning to send a special representative to Seattle and is considering the establishment of a regular branch in Seattle.
